Company failures

The number of insolvencies in Germany remains high. In the most recent estimate, Euler Hermes Kreditversicherungs-AG does, it is true, predict a decrease of 1.6 per cent to 38,600 cases this year - but a steep rise of 3.6 per cent to some 40,000 is on the cards for 2006. The total of lost receivables admitted to rank in 2005 will drop 6.5 per cent to 25 billion Euros. The sum of receivables lost in 2006 will rise by 8 per cent to 27 billion Euros, thus reaching the level of 2004 again.
