Technical information
Basics
The electronic credit limit notification of Euler Hermes Deutschland AG is transmitted as an encrypted e-mail (“Secure E-Mail”).
In order that you can use this service, you will need a so-called “digital certificate” for your e-mail address. Imagine this as some kind of electronic identity card, which proves the authenticity of each communication partner.
As a customer of Euler Hermes, you can of course obtain the needed certificate for free. Please click

to initiate the application process.
Furthermore, you will need e-mail software supporting the S/MIME standard. Most of the current e-mail software does so. The most common examples of such software would probably be “Microsoft Outlook”, “Lotus Notes”, or “Mozilla Thunderbird”.
Information for your IT Administrator
Especially in larger company networks, slight changes in the configuration might be needed in order to assure an untroubled reception of the electronic credit limit notification. This applies particularly when SPAM filters are used.
We have therefore summarized the needed detail information in a fact sheet addressing the IT administrator:Factsheet for Administrators
Information concerning process automation
In order to allow an automated processing, the electronic credit limit notifications contain an XML-attachment. This attached file provides the information in a way that it can be extracted by a machine.
A detailed description of this XML interface can be obtained on request.
